Chosen candidates are sent for a three year Foundation Degree Marine Cadetship Programme that is sponsored by Brunei Shell Tankers Sdn Bhd, at the selected educational institute.
Throughout these three years, these Marine Cadets undergo both theoretical and practical courses to implement and further enhance their competency in the seafaring profession. This would include time spent at college and onboard the respective vessels whereby the opportunity is given to expose them to the Life at Sea.

Sailing Routes
The Abadi, Bebatik, Belanak, Belais, Bilis, Bubuk, Bekulan and Bekalang transports Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Brunei Darussalam to their customers in Japan and Korea. These vessels loads their LNG cargo at Lumut terminal and discharge it at the terminals below:

Sailing Time and Conditions
Sailing times between Lumut and the terminals usually take 6 days each way, with at least a 24 hour standby time at the terminals to allow for the loading and discharging of cargoes.
Weather conditions at sea vary and can be unpredictable. It depends on the seasons in which the country en route is in.
Work Patterns Onboard
Normally Report to section heads: 2nd Eng for Engine Cadets and Chief Officer for Deck cadets.
