BRUNEI LNG SHIPPING

LIQUIFIED NATURAL GAS (LNG) forms the backbone of source of income as well as the major export for Brunei Darussalam, and continues to sustain the Nation’s economy.

Government’s aspiration - safeguard nation’s interest over its most valueable asset. In the downstream business, Shipping of LNG completes the end of the Brunei LNG Chain.

The primary mission into providing safe and reliable delivery of LNG to Brunei Darussalam’s overseas customers is upheld by the two Joint Venture Companies, namely, Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd (BGC) and Brunei Shell Tankers Sdn Bhd (BST).

These sister companies are firmly committed to the aspiration of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to oversee and create employment for Bruneian countrymen into pursuing a career at sea.

A Bruneianisation Programme was established to cater for this commencing from 2000, initially to recruit marine cadets to become engineering and deck officers at sea but later expanded to recruit crew members in 2002.
